My Story

There was a time I couldn’t walk into a grocery store without feeling like I was going to pass out.

If you’ve ever looked calm on the outside while feeling completely overwhelmed on the inside, I want you to know that I understand that world deeply. I lived in it for years.

The hidden struggle behind the smile

For most of my life I wore a mask. As a former professional athlete I was known for discipline, drive, and outward success. But behind closed doors I was silently falling apart.

It started subtly with tightness in my chest, racing thoughts, and unexplained dizziness. Then came the panic attacks, obsessive health fears, and a daily dread I couldn’t shake.

I became trapped in my own mind constantly searching for answers. I visited countless doctors, ran endless tests, and searched everywhere for reassurance. But the more I searched the worse it got. I wasn’t really living anymore, I was just trying to survive the day.

The breaking point

My turning point came during a panic attack while driving with my wife. My heart was pounding, my vision blurred, and I pulled over convinced I was dying.

It led to another hospital visit and another moment where I was told, “You’re fine.”

But I didn’t feel fine. I felt lost and terrified of spending the rest of my life this way. That moment changed everything.

Dennis healing journey

If parts of this story feel familiar to you such as the symptoms, the fear and the constant need to figure it all out, please know that you are not alone in it.

You do not have to keep trying to piece your healing together on your own.

The journey back to myself

Healing didn’t come overnight. It came slowly, through deep work, setbacks, breakthroughs, and a real willingness to understand what was happening beneath the symptoms.

I immersed myself in the approaches that actually helped me change from the inside out: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic tracking, breathwork, subconscious reprogramming, trauma reframing, visualization, inner healing work, and nervous system regulation.

These weren’t surface-level techniques. They helped me understand why I felt stuck, why reassurance never lasted, and how to begin reclaiming my life instead of just managing anxiety.

From pain to purpose

Once I found freedom, I knew I had to share what I had learned. I became certified in CBT, NLP, hypnotherapy, and life coaching.

I wrote books, launched The Anxiety Guy Podcast, and began creating guidance for the people who were facing what I once thought I would never overcome.

Today, this work has reached millions of people worldwide through my programs, podcast episodes, videos, and daily guidance. More than anything, I want people to feel understood and to know there is a real path forward.

Why I created these programs

These programs were born out of necessity. During my own recovery, I saw a major gap. People had access to scattered tools, but not enough structure, not enough daily guidance, and not enough emotional safety to do the work at a pace that respected their sensitivity.

So I built what I wish I had during my hardest days: clear, step-by-step support designed to help people stop guessing and start healing in a way that feels steady, grounded, and real.

What I know for sure

You’re not broken. You’re not weak. And you’re not alone.

Most people I speak to are not dealing with a lack of strength. They are living through protective patterns that once helped them survive, but now keep them stuck in fear.

Recovery is not about becoming someone else. It is about returning to who you really are underneath the fear, the overthinking, the symptom checking, and the constant need to stay on guard.

If my story feels familiar, this can be your turning point too.

You do not need more searching, more guessing, or more fear-based advice. What helps most is a clear path, daily guidance, and a way forward that actually makes sense for what you’re going through.
